Our client is a Belgian family company specialized in the production of food products. Since its establishment, the company has developed into a market leader in Belgium with a strong focus on quality, innovation and sustainability. From their state-of-the-art production site in Antwerp, we are looking for a Production Manager to support further growth.
About the job
You are responsible for the entire quality management system within the organization and ensure that all processes comply with applicable quality and food safety standards, including IFS and HACCP. You will keep the quality manual and associated procedures up to date and ensure that they are correctly applied in practice.
In addition, you closely follow up on existing products and participate in the development and validation of new products and concepts. You support innovation projects from a quality perspective and ensure that new products meet the required standards and expectations.
In case of quality problems or deviations, you perform thorough root cause analyses and set up corrective and preventive actions. You analyze quality and yield losses and translate these insights into concrete improvement initiatives. You organize and supervise internal audits and are the point of contact during external certification and customer audits. In doing so, you ensure correct preparation, follow-up and implementation of any points for improvement.
Furthermore, you play an active role in continuous improvement and process optimization. Based on the 5S philosophy, you will work together with various departments on more efficient processes, increased quality and better performance on the shop floor.
Your responsibilities also include raising quality awareness within the organization. You provide training and supervise employees so that quality and food safety are permanently embedded in daily operations. You report directly to the Plant Manager.
Job requirements
- You have a master’s degree in bioengineering, industrial engineering or equivalent through experience.
- You have at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within quality, ideally in the food sector.
- You have a strong knowledge of quality management systems and quality methodologies.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
