Wellness Pet Company, founded in the US and with nearly 100 years of history, is one of the largest independent manufacturers of premium dog and cat food. The company has been firmly committed to international expansion in recent years, with a strong focus on the European market from their Belgian office.
Challenge
Wellness Pet Company’s growth in Europe brought the need to strategically strengthen the internal organization. The company needed a partner that not only supported in filling these positions, but could also act as a substantive sparring partner.

The puppy phase of Wellness Pet Company and Stream

David Van Belle visited the Stream offices with the current organizational chart under his arm. Together with some Stroom consultants, he put himself at the drawing board to sketch out the perfect team for the future.
And that goes beyond what roles are needed to support needed growth. So they looked at what personality these people best have. But especially what their background is and how they can fit complementary profiles within the team.
A Supply Chain Manager as the last part of the pack
The most recent example that came out of the strategic sparring sessions as a result is the recruitment of Frank. When David knocked on Stroom’s door with his plans to recruit a new Supply Chain Manager alongside him, a robust brainstorming session began.
Planning Managers come in all shapes and sizes. What were the nuances needed here? They concluded that a complementary profile with David was needed. David has a well-rounded backpack in warehouse management. Someone with experience in Demand Planning would fit right in.
They found that person in Frank. Together with David, he forms an effective tandem today. This way of working with a recruitment partner like Stroom has helped not only to hire the right people, but also to strengthen the foundation of the organization for future growth.
