With over 100 years of experience in producing the highest quality bicycle parts, our client stands out as the Rolls Royce over other players in the business.
A title they are genuinely proud of and which keeps them going day in and day out with the entire team full of passion for the product.
Their customer base includes the biggest names within the bicycle industry and bicycle manufacturers worldwide. To keep up with their demand and offer the highest quality parts, they have spread themselves globally with multiple production sites. This means that in recent years they have not only grown significantly financially, but also transformed in size from an SME to a larger, more comprehensive and international organizational structure.
In order to take extra advantage of this new structure and ensure constant growth, we are looking with them for a Strategic Buyer for the HQ in Antwerp.
A good buyer is important, which has long been known. But a strong Strategic Buyer can additionally make the bigger difference to an organization by helping develop long-term strategies to create more value and optimize costs.
This is also the type we are looking for. Someone within this transition story who will use his/her analytical insight to look at the current procurement process to develop tighter strategic procurement plans, be able to create procurement strategies and adjust the supplier portfolio based on the needs and priorities within the company. There are no pre-written processes, which means you can fully make your mark in this. Gladly!
In addition, you are expected to get the entire purchasing process right from start to finish. You focus on strong relationships with suppliers, strive to maintain these good contacts in the first instance, but are also critical enough to consider other players in the market in order to arrive at the best pricing strategy. You do this both for the site in Belgium and the other European sites.
You know what is going on in the market and take into account possible risks. You do have some technical knowledge or affinity, as you focus on the purchase of various metals and finished goods. In addition, you can also speak with the internal engineering department and chemist and you are communicatively strong enough to enter into negotiations with various suppliers.
You base the entire process on the merging of the European sites, creating new synergies and ensuring that purchasing for all sites and productions follows the same lines. Naturally, you like to keep your finger on the pulse, which means you sometimes travel by plane up there every month to know what’s going on.
You will be remunerated with a salary with midpoint €5000 gross -according to experience- complemented by a full package of fringe benefits including a company car.
Wondering if you can take the procurement process to that next level within this dynamic company with enthusiastic colleagues? Let me know and I’ll be happy to tell you more.
