About the client

Our client designs and builds trade show booths and event structures for national and international clients. Each project is custom-made and brings together design, production, logistics, and assembly into a single process. Thanks to close collaboration between the various teams, the organization is able to deliver projects within tight deadlines and with a high level of finish, both domestically and internationally.

About the job

As Operations Manager, you are responsible for the operational coordination of the organization. You ensure that projects are planned, executed, and monitored efficiently, without getting bogged down in day-to-day operations yourself.

You serve as the link between project management, logistics, planning, production, and administration, and ensure that all parties involved have the right information at the right time.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • Monitoring the entire operational workflow, from project kickoff to invoicing.
  • Monitoring project planning and resource allocation in light of deadlines and available resources.
  • Coordinate collaboration between project managers, logistics, the workshop, and installation teams.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and proactively making adjustments where necessary.
  • Establishing and monitoring clear processes, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensuring that timing, quality, budgets, and operational efficiency are maintained.
  • Ensure proper administrative follow-up and timely invoicing of completed projects.
  • Serve as the point of contact for operational escalations and priority determination.
  • Supporting management with operational insights, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.

You are a visible presence within the organization, are familiar with ongoing projects, and know what’s going on on the ground. At the same time, you maintain enough distance to set priorities and keep the big picture in mind.

Job requirements

  • You have at least five years of experience in an operational, project-based, or coordinating role and feel right at home in a fast-paced environment. You’re used to thinking on your feet, setting priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously without losing sight of the big picture.
  • You have strong organizational skills and naturally bring structure to complex processes. You follow up on agreements meticulously, monitor deadlines, and are not afraid to speak up with colleagues or external partners when commitments are not being met.
  • You combine a hands-on approach with a bird’s-eye view. You understand the operational dynamics within projects and teams, but maintain enough distance to monitor processes, identify risks in a timely manner, and set the right priorities.
  • You are a strong communicator who collaborates effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. Experience in a project-driven environment—such as trade show booth construction, events, interior design projects, construction, or manufacturing—is a major asset. In addition, you have an excellent command of Dutch; knowledge of French and/or English is a plus.

What we offer

  • You have the option to work as an employee or as a self-employed person, depending on your preference and experience.
  • For a payroll position, a gross salary of up to €6,000 per month is offered, supplemented by a competitive benefits package. For self-employed individuals, a collaboration is possible with earnings of up to €10,000 per month.
  • You will take on a key role within the organization, with broad responsibilities and a direct impact on operations.
  • You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the further structuring and professionalization of the organization and its processes.
