About the client
We are looking for a motivated Transport Manager for one of our clients, a well-established player in the logistics sector.
In this management position, you will be responsible for day-to-day transportation operations and for leading the Operations team and a large group of in-house drivers. You will combine strong operational knowledge with a people-oriented approach and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running and continued improvement of transportation operations.
About the job
- You will lead the Operations team, which consists of customer service representatives, dispatchers, and transportation planners.
- You ensure smooth collaboration between planning, dispatching, drivers, and Customer Service.
- You monitor the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the transportation operations.
- You optimize the deployment of drivers and vehicles and identify areas for improvement in day-to-day operations.
- You ensure clear communication, agreements, and responsibilities within the team.
Job requirements
- You have several years of experience in the trucking industry.
- You have a good understanding of the day-to-day operations of transportation, planning, and dispatching.
- You have strong people management skills or the potential to continue developing in this area.
- You combine a people-oriented approach with a hands-on mindset.
- You communicate clearly, maintain a clear overview, and stay calm under pressure.
- You have a good command of Dutch. Knowledge of French and English is a plus.
