About the client
We are looking for a Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence Lead for a company in the food industry located in the Charleroi region.
You play a key role in the site’s performance and continuous improvement, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You transform data and on-site observations into concrete and sustainable actions, support teams in their improvement initiatives, and implement OPEX methodologies. Your goal: to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity, in alignment with the site’s strategic priorities.
About the job
You identify opportunities for improvement based on data, KPIs, and observations from the field, then initiate and coordinate projects aimed at optimizing processes, productivity, quality, and costs. You select and deploy appropriate OPEX methodologies, such as Lean, Lean Six Sigma, TPM, and SMED, and support teams and managers in their implementation. You lead cross-functional working groups, coach teams, and help them become more self-reliant in using continuous improvement tools. You monitor the progress and results of projects, report to the Plant Manager and the OT/PMT, and ensure that improvements are sustained. You will also develop performance management tools, share best practices, and help strengthen a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
Job requirements
- You hold a master’s degree, ideally in engineering or a relevant technical or scientific field.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement, ideally in an industrial setting.
- You are proficient in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, TPM, and SMED methodologies. A Green Belt certification is a plus.
- You have hands-on experience leading improvement projects and supporting teams in the field.
- You are comfortable with data analysis, tracking KPIs, and identifying performance drivers.
- You are fluent in French and have a good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- You are an enthusiastic coach, a clear communicator, and a facilitator capable of rallying teams around change.
- You are pragmatic, results-oriented, self-reliant, and organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
