Stroom is looking for a Business Development Manager

About the client

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager for a leading international player in the logistics sector. The organization supports clients in the food industry with a wide range of logistics services and is strongly committed to quality, innovation, and sustainable partnerships. 

In this key sales role, you will be responsible for attracting new customers, maintaining existing relationships, and developing customized logistics solutions. You will report directly to the Business Development Director. 

About the job

  • You will build lasting relationships with existing customers and actively seek out new business opportunities.
  • You will guide customers through the entire commercial process and offer end-to-end logistics solutions, ranging from warehousing and transportation to freight forwarding and customs formalities.
  • You will manage your own client portfolio and focus heavily on relationship management, cross-selling, and upselling.
  • You will work closely with internal teams, including operations, forwarding, and site management, to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • You analyze customer needs and translate them into customized sales proposals.
  • You will closely monitor quotes, tenders, and sales opportunities and build a high-quality sales pipeline.
  • You will actively contribute to the commercial strategy and identify new market opportunities within the international logistics sector

Job requirements

  • You have experience in a commercial role in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
  • You combine a business-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building long-term relationships.
  • You are interested in complex logistics processes and enjoy contributing ideas for integrated solutions for clients.
  • You work independently, take the initiative, and know how to set priorities in a dynamic international environment.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. Knowledge of an additional European language is a plus.
  • Experience in the food industry is a plus, but not required.
