About the client
For a client of ours active in the distribution of food products, we are looking for a driven Transport Manager. The organization delivers quality products daily to customers in the catering and food sector and supports a wide customer base with an efficient and reliable service from multiple locations in Belgium.
In this key role, you will take charge of daily transportation and dispatch operations and ensure that everything runs efficiently, safely and smoothly. You will be the liaison between the operational teams, drivers and internal departments and report directly to the CEO.
About the job
- You will manage the operational logistics team, consisting of drivers, a logistics coordinator and the night shift team lead. You are the central point of contact within the daily operation, with a particular focus on the driver team
- You will coordinate transportation and route planning and ensure that the logistics operation runs smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis
- You monitor the entire operational flow: from planning and start-up to execution and follow-up of deliveries and customer requests
- You ensure good cooperation between drivers, logistics teams and internal departments
- You think proactively about optimizations within transport and logistics processes and take responsibility for them
- You take ultimate responsibility for the daily logistics operation
- Quick and solution-oriented response to operational problems or customer questions
Job requirements
- You have experience within transportation, logistics or dispatching
- You are a strong people manager who brings structure and calm to an operational environment
- You communicate fluently and know how to deal with different personalities
- You are stress resistant and maintain an overview even when the pressure increases
- You work hands-on and roll up your own sleeves when necessary
- You adopt a flexible attitude when the situation demands it within a dynamic logistics environment
